> I still am probably going to be migrating to WordPress at some point, but I’m keeping this handy in case I change my mind. Link from Neil’s Smaller World. – UtterlyBoring.com
Do it, do it do it. Go with WordPress as soon as you can. If you’ve got any PHP chops at all you can utterly bend it to your will.
I believe the phrase I’m looking for is “Easy as pi.”
erm… “pie.”
(I suppose Pi, being an irrational mathematical notation is not quite as easy as a fruit-filled bakery dessert with a tender and flaky crust.)

I don’t think I’ve posted about OrBlogs here before, but since I was repairing some of my connection settings between Dwelling and OrBlogs, I though I’d do that.
<http ://www.orblogs.com/> has a collection of blogs from Oregonians. Physical locale is really the only connection between these people. Politically, emotionally, and chronologically they really have no other connection. but there is a sense of unification in terms of progressive thought.
I’m sure much of this is because the largest section of the population is from Portland and hence has a left-leaning, progressive oriented view point.

In case you were wondering, World Cup qualifying rounds take place in each of FIFA’s 6 member confederations. At FIFA.com you can see the list of them, and they correspond roughly with the populated continents. They are the equivalent of the American League and the National League in Major League Baseball.
From FIFA: The Confederations are the umbrella organisations of the national football associations on each continent. The AFC in Asia, CAF in Africa, the Football Confederation (CONCACAF) in North and Central America and the Caribbean, CONMEBOL in South America, UEFA in Europe and the OFC in Oceania all provide support to FIFA without encroaching on the rights of the national associations.

A fascinating comparison of Puritan and Quaker Ethics provides some interesting insight into the dichotomy of our nations founders. It’s also something that shows a few of the items that Amy and I have discussed re: religion.
Her experience with the Xian church is much more along the puritan axis. Mine, not completely of course, has been on the Quaker side of things. (Though with a lot more guilt thrown in.) 🙂
An interesting quote comes along with this link:
For some reason, the most vocal Christians among us never mention the Beatitudes. But, often with tears in their eyes, they demand that the Ten Commandments be posted in public buildings. – Kurt Vonnegut, Cold Turkey

Dear Straight Dope:
After watching Dawn of the Dead, I am left to wonder about one thing: If we were to suffer an apocalypse where most of the living became flesh-eating zombies, how long, assuming I survived, would I continue to receive hydroelectricity from my power company?
Straight Dope Staff Report: When the zombies take over, how long till the electricity fails?

There were a number of interesting commencement speeches this season, but I really enjoyed this one by Bono of U2.

Yes, the Timbers lost tonight in a heartbreaking sudden-death overtime.
But, I found this and it took my mind off the loss for a little while. (This was much better than that damn phone.)

Holy cow… The Timbers really took out the Aviators tonite: 6 to ZERO. 3 goals in the first half, 3 more in the second. The only draw back is that the Timbers only scored 5 of the goals…
And don’t miss this Timber article at OregonLive which is just hilarious.
